These quirky bat door knockers from Castelion® are made from cast brass using traditional sand casting techniques.
The bat hangs from a log, behind which is the fixing point. The head of the bat is rapped against the striking plate at the bottom. The excellent detail of the casting on this brass door knocker shows the bat’s folded wings, feet and head.
This brass door knocker measures 140mm (5 1/2″) in height and 50mm (2″) in width. The top fixing is located under the bat’s feet, and the lower fixing is under the striking plate. These are the only parts that touch the door and are 120mm (4 3/4″) apart. The knocker comes in a boxed weight of 350g and is made of solid, unlacquered brass.
